How to find us

Merle is easily drivable from the Channel - 7 hours or so from St. Malo or Caen.

Alternatively, RyanAir operate flights from Stansted, Liverpool, Nottingham and Birmingham to Bergerac and FlyBE from Southampton, Bristol, Exeter and Leeds to Bergerac which is 25 minutes from Merle.

British Airways flies from Gatwick to Bordeaux which is about 1½ hours from Merle. (Ref. map below).

 

  1. Leave the A.10 autoroute at Junction 39 and head to Libourne. Follow signs for Bergerac; these will bring you to the D.936.
  2. Follow the D.936 heading east towards Bergerac.
  3. At Ste. Foy la Grande (at a large junction with a brasserie 'Le Beau Zinc' that looks like an Irish bar on the left) turn right and follow the D.18 to Eymet. Go through Eymet looking for signs to Lauzun and take the D.181. Lauzun is 7km.
  4. At Lauzun you arrive at a crossroads, go left and follow signs for St. Colomb de Lauzun on the D.145. Follow this road out of Lauzun and Merle is about 3km on the right hand side of the road.
There are two options: the faster route via the A62 autoroute (small toll) or via Ste. Foy la Grande Bergerac using ordinary roads.
  1. Faster route: leave the 'Rocade' (Bordeaux's ring road) at Junction 19, this takes you to the A62 for Toulouse. Leave it at Jn.5; and follow the D.933 through Marmande to Miramont.
  2. At Miramont, look out for signs to Lauzun - off to the right on the D.1 and follow them.
  3. At Lauzun, look out for signs to St. Colomb de Lauzun on the D.145. Follow this road out of Lauzun and Merle is about 3km on the right hand side of the road.
  4. Alternative route: leave the 'Rocade' (Bordeaux's ring road) at Junction 24, this takes you on to the D.936 heading east towards Bergerac.

  1. As you leave Roumanière turn left on to the N.21 heading south.
  2. Just before Castillonnès, turn right on to the D.1 to Lauzun and Miramont.
  3. As  you arrive at Lauzun bear left and follow signs for St. Colomb de Lauzun on the D.145. Follow this road out of Lauzun and Merle is about 3km on the right hand side of the road.
